Quilts in the works!!

I'm so excited, I got an email from Marci, creator of "Children of the Inner Light" and she wants me to make her my little crib quilt!! Kewl!!  Also, some time earlier, I got an order for the Wedding quilt!!  AND 2 of my wooden wedding guest albums. Awesome!!  I am having to work a little harder to get these finished, but, that's okay,  Our family has lost 2 family members 2 weeks apart, My sister's husband, Larry, and my husband's brother, Gary.  It has been, words can't describe.  Anyway, suffice to say, that these two brothers are always in our hearts and thoughts and are so very missed.

The orders were all received within one and a half weeks before the tragic losses, so I am in overdrive trying to meet my deadlines.  I CAN DO IT!!

Here are a few pics:

and how cool is this, The creator of these little guys has asked me to make her one of my crib quilts,
I am sooo excited to do this one

Do your research!!

I've been wanting to get the 2nd upgrade for my Brother 4000D, but, it is so expensive, but, I finally decided to take the plunge.  I called my local dealer and they are asking 449.00.  WWWhhhhaaattt!!! That's crazy!!!.  So, I decided to go on the hunt for it.  I found a place called sewforless.com.  Yeah!! Even though I think it is still outrageous the amount of money you have to pay for upgrades, this company saved me 120.00. AND!  the shipping was FREE!!  I'm all for that!!!  So, it is on it's way!!

Custom made Keepsake Wedding Guest Book

I have finished the Wedding Guest Book for a client and if I do say so myself, This one turned out beautifully. I work very closely with the client and with her ideas and input, we put together a fabulous book.  If you are interested in a really unique keepsake for your wedding, then check out my Etsy shop:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/ReneesOutOnAWhim

Now, on to the quilts, running short on time, we have had a double loss in our family, my sister's husband, Larry and my husband's brother, Gary.  It has been a great loss to us because we were very close, as a matter of fact, Larry started dating my sister when I was about eleven years old, my sister, Gay Beth and he have been married for 37 years, so he was actually my real brother, and Gary has been my brother in law for 20 years and he was also more of a brother than a brother in law.  They are missed so very much.  They passed away exactly 2 weeks apart, so it's been a rough go, hence, this is why my time is running out, so back to work!! We love you Larry and Gary! Our hearts are broken and we think of you every minute of every day, the joy that you brought to us and the fun times spent together.

Wire Wrap Jewelry for my Sister in Law, Darlene

I created these designs for my Sister in Law, Darlene.  My Brother brought back this beautiful blue saphire and some blue lapis from his time in Afghanistan and I told him I would make her some earrings and a pendant.  This is the result.  What do you think?

OMG!! I've discovered filigree!!

I have discovered filigree and with the help of the internet and a wonderful Book called "Silver Threads",  I have been making some awesome filigree pendants.  Well, two to be exact, but I'll be making more.  What do you think?  A little rough, but still beautiful, I think, I want to add some gemstones and I want to figure out how to add the little silver balls, without melting the thinner wire.  Hmmmm!!  Any suggestions?

OMG!! Not Again!!!

Soooooo Frustrating!!!  Everytime I use this "Dream Machine", The darn thing freezes up, I mean, really freezes up!!  All I was making this time was these little blankets, a total of 4, and BAM!  I'm almost done, and what do you think happens?  This stupid machine locks up.  I've got to take it in again!!!  Does anybody else have this problem with their Innovis 4000 D.  I WANT A NEW MACHINE!!!  I have had this one for 2 years, and it's in the shop as many times as I have used it.

I had to switch to my old standby, my 33 year old singer futura.  At least it never gives me any trouble.  Never been in the shop, never misses a beat.  It just can't embroider like these new ones!!!! UUUUUGGGGHHHH! Why does it do that!!!!

Anyway, here are my finished blankets.  Thank Goodness I was done with the embroidering, so I could complete them on my old faithful.
